Terms and subscriptions

The Word Game is in beta. Plus subscriptions accept real payments through Stripe. Any earlier test memberships do not carry over to paid subscriptions.

Fair play

Use a display name you are allowed to use. Do not harass players, send spam, exploit the game, or use automated tools to gain an unfair advantage. You cannot buy wins, clues, or karma.

The daily challenge

Everyone gets the same two assigned words and computer matchup each day. The game resets at midnight UTC.

If you play without an account, you get one saved daily attempt per browser. Clearing browser data or switching browsers can reset that tracking. Sign in to keep progress with your account. Results are for fun, not cash prizes.

Plus plans

Monthly Plus costs $4.99 per month. Founding annual Plus costs $24.99 per year, paid once a year. That is about $2.08 per month. Each plan renews at its displayed price until you cancel. Any applicable tax will be shown at checkout.

Plus includes unlimited online hosting, free play for invited friends, all computer levels, more match history, and theme options.

The daily challenge and beginner practice stay free. Free accounts can host one online game per UTC day. Joining an invited game stays free. A game uses the host’s daily allowance only when both secret words are locked. Resuming that game does not use another allowance.

Canceling

Use Manage subscription to cancel future renewals or update payment details. If you cancel, access continues until the end of your paid period.

Refunds

If you bought or renewed a subscription in error, request a refund within 30 days of the charge. Only the most recent subscription charge is eligible. Earlier charges are not eligible under this policy.

Email support@playthewordgame.com from your account email and include the charge date. To stop future renewals, cancel through Manage subscription. This policy does not limit refund rights required by applicable law.

During beta

Features, availability, and game data may change. Do not share sensitive information in chat. Anyone with a shared score link can view it. Keep your recovery key private. Use Report in chat to report abuse.
